Notification No. 01/2025, issued 4 April 2025, for 1,299 posts: 933 SI (Taluk) and 366 SI (Armed Reserve), plus separately reported shortfall vacancies.
- Online application: 7 April to 3 May 2025; corrections until 13 May 2025.
- Eligibility: any bachelor's degree; age 20 to 30 (general) as on 1 July 2025.
- Written exam: 21 December 2025; provisional answer key 26 December 2025 (objections until 2 January 2026).
- Final merit (open quota) out of 100: written 70 + PET 15 + viva-voce 10 + special marks 5.
Result status is disputed: coaching sites report a provisional list of 7,414 candidates on 27 January 2026 and physical tests from 24 February 2026, but the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court heard a challenge to the question paper in February 2026 and stayed the results for 10 days, and a July 2026 news report said results had still not been announced. Next cycle: no SI notification in 2026 as of 21 October 2026. The revised 2026-27 planner tentatively lists SI (Technical) for February 2027 and the Joint Recruitment (SI Taluk, AR, TSP and Station Officer) for August 2027.
