The Women, Peace and Security Index 2025-26, published by the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and the Peace Research Institute Oslo, ranks India 131st among 181 countries with a score of 0.607. Denmark leads with 0.939, followed by Iceland and Norway, while the United States is 31st and Afghanistan last with 0.279. First launched in 2017, the index is released every two years.
