The WHO Foundation has joined hands with Novo Nordisk to address childhood obesity in India. The partnership will run school-based health programmes and public awareness drives to encourage healthy living, balanced diets and regular physical activity among children.
It will also help identify health risks early and strengthen primary healthcare systems. Obesity is associated with non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease and Type 2 Diabetes.
