Strengthening the Frontiers: Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) Phase II
Six border villages in the Kathua district of Jammu & Kashmir have been officially included under Phase II of the Vibrant Village Programme. This centrally sponsored scheme aims to transform strategic border settlements into prosperous and resilient communities.
Selected Villages and Goals
- Villages: Bobiya, Kadyala, Gajnal, Karol Krishna, Rathua, and Gujjar Chak along the International Border.
- Infrastructure focus: Building roads, healthcare units, and ensuring 24/7 electricity and clean drinking water.
- National Security: By reducing migration from border areas and improving livelihoods, the scheme strengthens the local surveillance and security ecosystem.
