Save

Uttar Pradesh has given its approval to a project costing close to ₹37 crore for setting up India's first museum devoted to locks, to be located in Aligarh. The museum will trace how locking devices have evolved over time, starting from the Vedic period and moving through to today's digital and cyber-locking systems. By presenting this long history in one place, the project aims to showcase the craft and technology behind locks and their changing role in security. It will be the first institution of its kind anywhere in the country.
