EnKash Launches India's First UPI-Enabled Meal Card

Save
Fintech firm EnKash has introduced India's first meal card that works through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Employees holding the card can pay for food directly from their meal card balance by scanning eligible UPI Quick Response (QR) codes at merchants, instead of relying on card machines. The launch comes after the revised Income Tax Rules, in force from 1 April 2026, raised the tax-free meal allowance limit to ₹8,800 per month, or ₹200 per meal. The product combines an employee benefit with India's widely used UPI payment network.
