On 20 October 2026, the Tamil Nadu government approved the Vetri 150 scheme to give extra work to vulnerable rural families. Under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G), eligible households get 125 days of guaranteed work a year; Vetri 150 adds 25 more days once those 125 are completed, taking the total to 150. Beneficiaries include women-headed and single-woman households, families with persons with disabilities, SC and ST households and eligible forest dwellers. The State has set aside ₹100 crore for 2026–27. VB-G RAM G is funded by the Union and State in a 60:40 ratio.
