Sikkim has become the first Indian state to adopt a fully paperless judiciary, a landmark in digital justice delivery. The announcement was made at the National Conclave on Technology and Judicial Education held in Gangtok. The system covers end-to-end digital working, including e-filing, digital case records, virtual hearings and automated workflows. It is expected to cut case pendency, speed up hearings and make courts more efficient. Indian courts are also increasingly using Artificial Intelligence tools such as SUPACE for legal research and SUVAS for translating judgments, along with case management.
