Bank of Baroda has become the first bank in India to issue domestic Green Infrastructure Bonds, raising ₹10,000 crore through its Series I long-term bonds. The money will be used to fund environment-friendly projects. The issue drew strong interest from investors, attracting bids of about ₹16,415 crore, which is more than three times its base size. Green bonds are debt instruments whose proceeds finance sustainable projects such as renewable energy, clean transport and climate-friendly infrastructure.
