NSE enables India's first tokenised corporate bond issuances worth ₹1,000 crore

Save

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has facilitated tokenised corporate bond issuances totalling ₹1,000 crore. The deals were done under SEBI's Regulatory Sandbox Framework with guidance and support from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and drew banks, financial institutions, mutual funds and depositories. Tokenisation represents and manages securities digitally using Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), keeping digital records across a distributed network; NSE sees it as a way to improve processes across the securities lifecycle.
