Rajasthan and Haryana have signed the Yamuna Water Project Agreement covering the construction and implementation of a project to supply drinking water. The agreement draws on the 1994 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on sharing the utilisable surface waters of the Upper Yamuna Basin among the basin States, and is a step towards resolving long-pending inter-State water needs.
