PM Narendra Modi’s UP Visit 2026: A Boost to Infrastructure and Women Empowerment
On April 28–29, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Uttar Pradesh, focusing on Varanasi and Hardoi. During the visit, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for 160 development projects with a total outlay of approximately Rs. 6,350 crore.

- Ganga Expressway Inauguration: In Hardoi, the PM inaugurated the 594-km long Ganga Expressway. This 6-lane greenfield project (expandable to 8) was built at a cost of Rs. 36,230 crore and connects 12 districts from Meerut to Prayagraj.
- Project Split: The visit saw the inauguration of 48 completed projects (Rs. 1,050+ crore) and the foundation stone laying of 112 new projects (Rs. 5,300+ crore).
