The Prime Minister has inaugurated the Lower Kopili Hydroelectric Project in Assam. It is a 120-megawatt run-of-river hydropower project located across the West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts. Run-of-river schemes generate electricity using the natural flow of a river with little or no large reservoir storage. The project adds clean power capacity for Assam and the wider Northeast region.
