Odisha has emerged as the best-performing State in completing houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0, as of 8 May 2026, and held first place in completion performance from March 2025 to March 2026. PMAY-U 2.0, launched in September 2024, provides pucca houses to eligible urban poor and middle-income families. In Odisha, 24,625 houses were sanctioned and about 23,464 sites geo-tagged; foundation work began on 3,134 houses and 2,008 were finished by 5 May 2026. Progress is tracked through geo-tagging, foundation tracking and completion monitoring.
