Odisha has been chosen for the PM Surya Ghar Excellence Awards in recognition of its strong performance during the Month of Solar Campaign 2026. Among medium-consumer states, Odisha stood first in the number of applications, rooftop solar installations and inspections carried out by Distribution Companies (DISCOMs). The State also secured third place in the category for maximum vendor registrations. PM Surya Ghar is the Union government's scheme to promote rooftop solar power in households.
