The Odisha government has made Electric Vehicles (EVs) compulsory for all new two-wheelers and four-wheelers acquired for government use from 1 June 2026. The decision is intended to cut vehicular emissions and fuel costs in the government fleet and to set an example that encourages wider adoption of clean mobility in the State. The rule applies to new purchases from the stated date onwards.
