NSTFDC Celebrates 25 Years: A Milestone in Tribal Entrepreneurship

The National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) celebrated its Silver Jubilee (25th Foundation Day) on April 10, 2026, at Vishwa Yuva Kendra, New Delhi. The event, graced by Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram, underscored the corporation's successful transition from providing mere financial aid to acting as a powerful catalyst for tribal entrepreneurship across India.

A Legacy of Financial Inclusion

Established in 2001 as a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, NSTFDC has remained the apex body for the economic development of Scheduled Tribes (STs). Over its 25-year journey, its socio-economic impact has been substantial:

• Disbursement Milestone: The corporation has facilitated over 16.80 lakh loans, with total disbursements exceeding ₹4,400 crore to date.


• Financial Stability: NSTFDC has consistently recorded an annual profit in the range of ₹20–30 crore, maintaining a robust and sustainable financial model.


• Collateral-Free Support: A key focus of the mission has been providing collateral-free financial assistance, ensuring that even the most marginalized tribal beneficiaries have easy access to capital for self-employment.
