The National Statistics Office (NSO) has released India's first district-level estimates for the unincorporated non-agricultural sector, based on the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2025. Covering 757 of 770 districts and the Manufacturing, Trade and Other Services segments in rural and urban areas, the data shows establishments, workers, women's participation and Gross Value Added (GVA). The top 50 districts hold almost a third of establishments, workforce and GVA. Women form at least a third of workers in 237 districts and over half in 25. In 280 districts, GVA per worker exceeds the all-India average of ₹1,56,539.
