NITI Aayog has released the second edition of the India Electric Mobility Index (IEMI) 2025, which tracks progress of States and Union Territories towards electric mobility goals. Delhi ranked first, followed by Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chandigarh and Goa among the top performers. The index scores States and UTs out of 100 on 16 indicators grouped under three themes: transport electrification, charging infrastructure, and electric vehicle (EV) research and innovation. The highest score improved from 77 in 2024 to 84 in 2025.
