National Bone and Joint Day was observed on 4 August to raise awareness about bone, joint, spine and musculoskeletal health. It was started in 2012 by the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) with the slogan "Stronger Bones, Stronger India."
The 2026 theme is "Healthy Bones, Healthy Joints, Healthier India." The day promotes early diagnosis and preventive care for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, gout and spine disorders.
