Empowering Street Vendors: Namo Stall Scheme under PM SVANidhi

In April 2026, Union MoS (Defence) Sanjay Seth launched the 'Namo Stall Scheme' in Ranchi, Jharkhand. This initiative is designed to upgrade the infrastructure for street fruit and vegetable vendors under the umbrella of the PM SVANidhi scheme.

Key Details:

• Infrastructure: The scheme provides high-quality, weather-resistant stalls costing approximately Rs. 50,000 each to local vendors for free in the initial phase.


• Objective: To promote self-employment, improve hygiene, and enhance the visibility of small-scale vendors.


• PM SVANidhi Linkage: Launched in 2020 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), PM SVANidhi provides collateral-free loans starting from Rs. 15,000 up to Rs. 50,000 with interest subsidies.
