The foundation stone has been laid for India's first port-based e-methanol production facility at Deendayal Port in Kandla, Gujarat. E-methanol is a green fuel produced using renewable electricity, typically by combining green hydrogen with captured carbon dioxide. Producing it at a port can help supply clean marine fuel to ships and support India's goals of decarbonising the shipping sector and promoting green energy.
