Telangana's Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has launched a gold and copper exploration programme at Lingadahalli village in Devadurga taluk, Raichur district, Karnataka, marking SCCL's first entry into gold and copper exploration. The Devadurga mineral block spans 199.13 sq km and was allotted through an auction by the Union Ministry of Mines. An exploration agreement between the Karnataka Mines and Geology Department and SCCL was signed on 6 August 2026. SCCL has also proposed a joint venture with Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) on coal supply for thermal power plants.
