Eveready Industries India has commissioned India’s first alkaline battery manufacturing facility, located in Jammu, in 2026. Alkaline batteries are widely used in consumer devices such as remote controls, toys and clocks. As the first unit of its kind in the country, the plant marks an important step towards domestic manufacturing of these cells, in line with the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. It also adds to industrial activity in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
