Odisha Police and Uttarakhand Police have been conferred the President's Police Colour, the highest honour that can be given to a police force in India.
The honour recognises distinguished service by a force, and it entitles both forces to display the President's Colour as a mark of excellence in maintaining law and order and serving the public. Awards to police forces, armed forces units and institutions are a frequent source of questions in competitive examinations.
