The Samriddh Gram Phygital Services Pilot Initiative was inaugurated at Umri village in Madhya Pradesh to offer integrated services in rural areas. 'Phygital' combines physical and digital delivery. The Department of Telecommunications is running the pilot over the BharatNet rural broadband network. It sets up Samriddhi Kendras, village service hubs offering education, telemedicine, farm advisory, e-governance and financial services. The aim is to widen digital access and improve public service delivery in villages through shared digital infrastructure.
