Waaree Energies has announced that it will build India's largest integrated lithium-ion battery gigafactory at Rambilli in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh. A gigafactory is a very large manufacturing plant that produces batteries at scale. The facility is expected to strengthen domestic production of energy-storage cells, which are needed for electric vehicles and for storing power from renewable sources such as solar and wind. The project supports India's aim of reducing dependence on imported batteries and building a self-reliant clean-energy supply chain.
