India sent the Devnimori Buddha relics to Sri Lanka for public veneration at Colombo's Gangaramaya Temple from 4 to 10 February 2026. Kept at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Vadodara, the relics were excavated in 1957 at Devnimori in Gujarat's Aravalli district. Their casket bears inscriptions in Brahmi script and the Sanskrit language. The exposition highlights India-Sri Lanka Buddhist cultural ties.
