MoSPI Releases 'Women and Men in India 2025' Report: Improved Sex Ratio Observed

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the 27th edition of the β€˜Women and Men in India 2025’ report. The report highlights critical trends in health, education, and labor participation, serving as a baseline for developmental policies.


Key Indicators:


  • Sex Ratio at Birth: Improved significantly from 904 (2017-19) to 917 (2021-23).

  • Total Fertility Rate (TFR): Urban areas recorded a low TFR of 1.5, while rural areas stood at 2.1.

  • Labor Force Participation (LFPR): Rural females saw a major jump in participation, rising from 37.5% to 45.9%.

  • Education: Female GER in higher education rose to 30.2, surpassing the male GER of 28.9.
