The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) introduced a new logo on the theme 'Data for Development'. It combines the Ashoka Chakra, the Rupee symbol and rising bars. MoSPI also introduced a mascot called 'Sankhyiki', meaning statistics. The National Statistical Office will use the mascot in surveys and awareness drives to encourage people to respond to surveys and to build trust in official data.
