The Union Ministry of Culture has started India's first countrywide survey to map manuscripts, as part of the Gyan Bharatam Mission for protecting and digitising ancient knowledge. The survey will locate manuscripts across the country and build a consolidated national digital repository. Each manuscript will be geotagged, documented and digitised to prevent loss and guard against intellectual piracy. The drive is in line with the New Delhi Declaration and supports preservation of India's cultural and literary heritage.
