Madhya Pradesh has become the first State to offer free registration of rural properties under the Swamitva Adhikar Abhilekh Nispadan Evam Panjiyan Yojana-2026. The scheme covers about 50 lakh rural properties and aims to give rural residents formal ownership records. It was launched in Indore under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, and free registration is being carried out in more than 23,000 villages. The initiative is linked to the SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme, which uses technology to map rural properties.
