Having met the original 3 crore target early, the Centre has doubled the Lakhpati Didi goal to 6 crore women by March 2029. The scheme helps Self-Help Group members earn at least ₹1 lakh a year from livelihood activities. The Union Budget 2026–27 also announced SHE-Marts (Self Help Entrepreneur Marts) to give SHG products better market access nationwide and boost rural women's entrepreneurship.
