The Konyak tribe recently observed its Aoleang festival in Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, from April 1 to April 6. The festival is celebrated by the community to mark the New Year and to welcome the arrival of spring. Aoleang is one of the major traditional festivals of the Konyak people and reflects the rich cultural heritage of the tribal communities of North-East India. Tribal festivals of this kind are a frequent topic in the art and culture section of TNPSC examinations.
