The Kerala Cabinet has approved the Priyadarshini Scheme, under which women and transgender persons can travel free of cost on ordinary bus services run by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). The scheme comes into effect from 15 June 2026. By removing the cost of daily commuting, the measure aims to improve mobility and access to education, work and services for women and transgender persons across the state.
