The Indian Navy's INS Nilgiri participated in Exercise Kakadu 2026, a multinational naval exercise held every two years and conducted by the Royal Australian Navy in Australia. The exercise brings together navies from several countries to train side by side and build cooperation at sea. India's participation through INS Nilgiri reflects its growing maritime engagement with Australia and other partner navies in the Indo-Pacific region.
