Four products from Madhya Pradesh have been granted Geographical Indication (GI) tags. They are the Indori Malwi Potato of Indore; Garadu, a tuber, and Balam Kakdi, a cucumber, both from Ratlam; and the fruit of the iconic Baobab tree of Mandu in Dhar district. A GI tag identifies a product as originating from a specific region whose qualities or reputation are linked to that place, helping protect local producers.
