India has successfully tested Vayu Astra, an indigenous loitering munition developed by Nibe Limited. Demonstrations were completed in two very different settings: the mountainous terrain of Malari in Uttarakhand and the desert terrain of Pokhran in Rajasthan. A loitering munition can hover over a target area before striking, giving forces a precise attack option. The successful trials across varied terrain point to the system's suitability for different operational conditions.
