India's indigenously developed Bhargavastra Counter-Swarm Drone System was demonstrated in Nagpur, Maharashtra. A counter-swarm system is designed to detect and neutralise a large number of small drones attacking together, a threat that is hard to stop with conventional air defence guns or costly missiles. Such swarms have become a growing concern in modern conflicts because they are cheap and can overwhelm defences. The demonstration of a home-grown solution adds to India's capability to protect troops and vital installations from drone attacks.
