India's total installed power generation capacity has crossed 520 gigawatts (GW). More than half of this capacity now comes from non-fossil fuel sources such as solar, wind, hydro and nuclear power. The milestone reflects the rapid addition of clean energy capacity and India's progress towards its climate commitments, while also meeting rising electricity demand.
