Andhra Pradesh is the launch site of India's first national-level pilot for building rural homes with 3D printing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). The pilot brings 3D-printing construction into the government's rural housing scheme for the first time at the national level. The technology has an Indian precedent: back in 2021, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and the startup Tvasta presented the country's first 3D-printed single-storey house, built on the IIT Madras campus.
