The Prime Minister inaugurated India's first Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System on the Delhi-Meerut corridor linking Delhi with Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. For the first time in the country, Namo Bharat and Metro trains run from the same station on shared tracks. The semi-high-speed regional rail aims to cut travel time and road congestion in the National Capital Region.
