Anna Chakra, India's digital decision-support system for moving food grains under the Public Distribution System, is a finalist for the 2026 Franz Edelman Award, a global honour in operations research and analytics. Developed by the Department of Food and Public Distribution with the World Food Programme and IIT-Delhi, it was rolled out nationwide in December 2025 and serves more than 81 crore PDS beneficiaries by optimising grain transport routes.
