Indian Railways has completed the 1,506 km long Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, which connects Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal to Dadri.
Dedicated freight corridors are rail lines reserved for goods trains, allowing faster and more reliable cargo movement while freeing capacity on passenger routes. The finished corridor is expected to improve freight transport across the country. In a related fact, China has the world's largest metro network (about 11,000 km), followed by the USA (about 1,400 km) and India (about 1,100 km).
