The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has released seven nitrosamine impurity reference standards for the first time. They will help laboratories accurately detect and quantify nitrosamine impurities, harmful compounds that can form during manufacture, storage or packaging of medicines. The standards are expected to strengthen pharmaceutical testing, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. IPC also held its first interactive meeting with the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL), Kolkata, on drug quality and pharmacopoeial standards.
