Indian Army sets up AASHVAST lab to detect security threats in military drones

Save

The Indian Army has established AASHVAST at the DG EME headquarters in New Delhi to identify software threats and security weaknesses in military drones. AASHVAST stands for Assessment and Analysis of Electronic Systems Hardware for Vulnerabilities and Security Threats. The air-gapped, offline lab inspects drone firmware for backdoors, unauthorised components and hidden access tools, and can test how drones respond to GPS spoofing and jamming, both electronic warfare techniques.
