Save

For the first time in Asian Games history, India has taken gold in the team recurve archery event for women. The medal came at the 2026 Asian Games, being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Until now Indian women had never stood on the top step of the podium in this team competition at the Games, which makes the result a landmark for the country's archery programme. The same day also saw India secure its first athletics gold of these Games, through the women's 4×400m relay team, adding to a strong showing by the Indian contingent in Japan.
