India Post marked the birth centenary of celebrated cartoonist Mario Miranda on 3 May 2026 with a philatelic tribute in Panaji, Goa. Mario Miranda was known for his detailed, humorous drawings of Goan village life, crowded city scenes and office characters, which appeared in leading Indian newspapers and magazines for decades. A philatelic tribute, such as a special cover or stamp, is India Post's way of honouring eminent personalities and events. The centenary commemoration recognises his lasting contribution to Indian cartooning and illustration.
