The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) has released its Food Security Index, which assesses food security on four pillars: availability, accessibility, utilisation and sustainability. The index examines climate change impacts at different warming levels such as 1.5°C and 2°C. India is placed among the large economies most vulnerable to food insecurity, and its food security score could drop by about 15% under warming scenarios, raising the risk of severe food insecurity.
