Government Reviews Progress of 'Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat' Campaign to End Child Marriage

Save

The Government has highlighted the progress made under the "Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat" campaign, which seeks to make India free of child marriage through joint action by government and communities. The campaign began on 27 November 2024, and a 100-Days Special Campaign under it was started on 4 December 2025 to raise awareness and improve reporting of cases.

Child marriage and child labour are prohibited by the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act (PCMA) and the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act. States appoint Child Marriage Prohibition Officers (CMPOs), and Child Helpline 1098 offers a 24x7 toll-free emergency service.
